GRA calls for life sentences for those who kill a member of the force

The Garda Representative Association is demanding the introduction of mandatory life sentences for anyone who kills a member of the force.
Rank and file gardaí are calling on the Justice Minister to introduce much stiffer penalties for those who attack a garda.
It follows the tragic case of Garda Robbie Mc Callion, who was knocked down by a teenager in Letterkenny, Co. Donegal.
Jamie Mc Grenaghan was jailed for only six years for dangerous driving after a jury cleared him of manslaughter.
GRA President Damien Mc Carthy says the legislation needs to be changed:
