23,079 people now signing on in Donegal

There were 23,079 people signing on the Live Register in Donegal at the end of August marginally down on the July figure, but up 1.6% on the figure for August of last year.
Four of the nine offices in the county recorded increases, four recorded decreases, while one was unchanged.
The biggest increase in Donegal was once again registered in Letterkenny with 6,648 on the register, marginally down from July, but up 4.8% on August 2010.
Killybegs had 1,371 people signing on, up 3.7%, while Ballyshannon recorded a 3% increase, with 1,609 people on the register. There were 1,689 signing on in Dunfanaghy, up 1.4%
The other Social Welfare offices in the county recorded small decreases – In Ballybofey, there were 2,924 signing on, a year on year fall of 3.9%, while Buncrana recorded a 2.6% decrease with 5,044 on the register there.
There  were 1,373 on the register in the Donegal Town office, down 1.9%, while in Dungloe, there were 2,421 signing on, unchanged.
