Man in 20’s stabbed in Letterkenny

A young man had his throat cut in a an attack in Letterkenny at the weekend it’s emerged.
The man in his 20s had to receive 40 stitches as a result of the attack in the Glencar area on Friday night.
Gardai have confirmed they had been called to investigate a stabbing just before 11 o clock on Friday night last.
The injured man was treated for injuries to his upper neck and body, he was released from hospital just after 1am.
The scene was preserved and a full investigation was carried out.
Gardai also took pictures of the mans injuries, but the man didn’t want to make a complaint.
Highland Radio News contacted Gardai in Letterkenny on Saturday morning, but no information on the attack was available.
It emerged yesterday that despite a full Garda investigation at the time, the young man did not make a formal complaint when he was released from hospital.
Gardai in Letterkenny have said that they are deeply concerned about the fact the young man failed to make a complaint.
