The Northwest Alcohol Forum has described fgures, which show the number of teens abusing alcohol is higher here than the rest of the country, as shocking.
Across the country, the number of teenagers being treated for alcohol abuse has surged by more than 145% in the last five years.
The problem is worse still in Donegal – between 2008-2010, the number of people aged 15 to 64 per 100,000 being treated in Donegal stood 299 – a major increase on previous figures.
A second report highlighted that over a half a million children are at risk in Ireland because of their parents hazardous drinking.
