The situation which lead to a threat by the ESB to cut power to a sewerage system serving College Park, Gaelscoil Adhamhnain, and and at least one playschool has been raised in the Seanad.
Power was due to be cut on the 21st of this month, but the ESB has now said it will defer the disconnection for the time being.
The bill, in excess of 4,000 euro is owed by a developer who has gone into receivership and had responsibility over the running of the pump system.
Senator Jimmy Harte raised the issue in the Seanad last evening.
He has called on the enviroment minister Phil Hogan to clarify what rules govern this type of situation, saying residents and others effected are caught in the middle…..
