Finance Minister Michael Noonan is currently delivering part two of Budget 2012 to the Dail.
Among the measures expected to be announced are a 2 per cent rise in VAT and hikes in road tax and carbon tax.
The Minister is also expected to announce changes to the universal social charge for low earners and help for people who bought property during the boom years.
