Harte and Mc Conalogue clash on budget

Senator Jimmy Harte says that he is amazed by what he termed the blatant hypocrisy displayed by FF TD Charlie Mc Conalogue who criticised the changes to Child Benefit in yesterday’s budget.
There had been suggestions that Child Benefit would be cut, but the base rate has been left unchanged, although increases for third and subsequent children are being scrapped.
That’s been criticised by Deputy Mc Conalogue, who says it will cause hardship, with Labour Senatopr Jimmy Harte saying it’s rich for a representitive of Fianna Fail to speak of anyone causing hardship……
