Soccer – Harps March On With Victory Over Longford

Finn Harps made it three league wins out of three and in doing so inflicted a first league defeat on First Division leaders Longford Town at Flancare Park on Saturday night. It had all started so well for the home side who opened the scoring in the 14th minute. Ten minutes into the second half Town keeper Craig Hyland was sent-off as Harps drew level through the resulting free-kick which was converted by Paul Simon Tracey. Thomas McBride put Harps ahead in the 78th minute and one minute into additional time substitute Blain Curtis sealed the 3-1 win. The result moves Harps fourth in the table and four points behind the leaders Longford. The Donegal side have also scored more goals than the rest of the sides in the First Division.
Harps Player Manager Peter Hutton spoke with Deniese O’Flaherty after the game.
