Soccer – Derry City Into To First Ever Setanta Cup Final

Derry City will take-on Crusaders in this season’s Setanta Sports Cup final at Windsor Park. On Monday night at the Brandywell Derry ended Shamrock Rovers’ reign as Setanta Sports Cup holders. Gary Twigg scored twice for Rovers as the champions beat their hosts by two goals to nil in the second-leg of their semi-final. But Derry still advanced to this year’s final on aggregate thanks to their 3-0 first-leg win at the Tallaght Stadium.  Crusaders were taken to extra-time by Sligo Rovers at the Showgrounds, an extra-time penalty by Colin Coates saw the Irish League side claim a 3-2 aggregate win. Derry will play in their first ever Setanta Cup Final on Saturday 12th May in Belfast with a 4pm kick off.
