Donegal councillor says rural planning policy should be revisited

A Donegal councillor says the planning permission for the Asian Hub in Athlone is to be welcomed if it creates jobs, and it should help to relax rural housing policy insofar as planning is concerned.
Cllr Paul Canning says it’s difficult to understand why Planning Departments up and down the country refuse planning permission for dwellings that may form a Ribbon Development or have a bay window or a front projection, but developments like the Athlone one can get the go ahead.
