Soccer – Monaghan 1 v 4 Derry City

Derry City took their first league win since March on Tuesday night with a 4-1 victory against Monaghan United at Gortakeegan.
All of the games five goals were scored in the second half with four hitting the net in the final seven minutes. David McDaid bagged the games first in the 55th minute to put Derry in front. Stephen Mc Laughlin made it 2-0 in the 85th and Patrick Mc Eleney scored the third just four minutes later. Conor Murphy pulled one back for Monaghan on 90 before Strabane’s Rory Patterson hit the 4th for Derry two minutes into injury time.
Derry move up to 6th in the table on 15pts.
