12 million committted to improve Strabane

Strabane District Council has committed £12m to help achieve its vision for the town over the next three years.
The plans were unveiled this week.
Among the chief aims of the plans are upgrading and modernising the Melvin Sports Complex and the Riversdale and Derg Valley leisure centres.
There are also plans to fast-track the Strabane Bridges project which aims to build two pedestrian and cycle bridges over the River Mourne to link the town centre to outlying areas.
The Riverine and Riverlinks projects are expected to be completed within this time, while physical and community regeneration has also been prioritised.
The Riverine Project is a joint initiative with neighbouring Lifford with funding already secured to help revamp the region.
The project will build tree-lined boulevards, play areas and pedestrian routes.
The EU-funded Riverlinks project also aims to transform parts of East Donegal and West Tyrone.
