Ulster Bank branches to remain open until 6pm today

Opening hours at 80 Ulster Bank branches will be extended until 6pm today, in a bid to get through a backlog of transactions caused by a technical malfunction.
The glitch in the bank’s IT system emerged last week and is said to have affected payment services for over 100-thousand customers.
Ulster Bank has assured customers that they will not end up out of pocket – but admits it could take until the end of the week to clear the backlog.
In a statement last night, the Bank said it’s working around the clock to resolve a number of minor issues – linked to the malfunction – which still need to be resolved.
