File to be sent to DPP following civil servant arrest in February

Gardai have confirmed that a file will shortly be sent to the Director of Public Prosecutions in relation to the alleged sale of Department of Social Protection information to private investigators working on behalf of insurance companies.
In a statement, the garda press office says that on the 22nd of February, a civil servant was arrested in Letterkenny under the Official Secrets Act, and after having his detention extended, he was released on February 24th.
A file has now been completed, according to the gardai, and is now being sent to the DPP’s office.
