Donegal County Council has written to more than 30,000 households throughout the County urging them to pay the Household Charge.
The council says the letters were sent on foot of data received from the Property Registration Authority database. As a result, some letters may be received in error. If that happens, people are asked to contact the council to ensure their records are corrected.
Garry Martin is Director of Finance with Donegal County Council, and he says since mid summer, over 6,000 households have paid, with a compliance rate of around 52%.
He says all options for collecting the charge, including court proceedings, are being considered…….
