There are calls for Strabane Canal and Moorlough to be included in the Waterways Irelands Business Plan.
Waterways Ireland was developed under the Good Friday Agreement, and it is responsible for developing Irelands canals and inland waterways.
Strabane canal is a four-mile stretch of waterway linking Tyrone and Derry, and the Council has recently carried out restoration work.
