Concern at transfer of farm blood testing from Sligo to Cork

A Sligo senator says the proposed removal of animal blood testing services from Sligo will cost jobs and create delays for farmers across the North West.
Senator Marc Mac Sharry has called on the Minister for Agriculture Simon Coveney to immediately reconsider plans to transfer the services from Sligo to Cork.
Senator Mac Sharry says farmers will now have to send samples to Cork, adding significant delays for those who need to test regularly, particularly for export markets.
He says it will have a detrimental effect on the whole region…………
