Soccer – McHugh Scores Against Given To Seal Bradford Win

Donegal teenager Carl McHugh sealed Bradford City’s 3-1 win over Aston Villa in the first-leg of their League Cup semi-final last night at Valley Parade.

Nahki Wells gave Bradford the lead when he beat the offside trap in the 19th minute. Rory McArdle added a second for the home side in the 77th minute before Andreas Weimann pulled a goal back for Villa.
With the Premier League side chasing an equaliser, Irish under-19 international McHugh scored a powerful header against one of his boyhood hero’s to put his club within 90 minutes of a place in the League Cup final.
The two will meet again in the second leg on January 22nd.
