GAA – Experimental Donegal Lose to Fermanagh

Donegal suffered defeat in their first appearance of 2013.  Fermanagh out-played Jim McGuinness’ men on their way to a 2-15 to 2-07 win in their McKenna Cup tie at Brewster Park on Wednesday night.
Not one player from the starting All Ireland final winning side started last night in Enniskillen. Kevin McFadden (Cloughaneely), Ciaran Cannon (Letterkenny Gaels), Packie Mailey (Convoy), Sean McGarvey (Cloughaneely) and Willie Gillespie (Naomh Colmcille) were all handed starting debuts.  Later Caolan Ward (St Eunan’s), Pauric Carr (Kilcar) and Leon Kelly (Glenswilly) were put in as subs for first senior appearances.
The home side got off to the perfect start when Daryl Keenan’s scored a goal for the opening score of the game. An experimental Donegal side were held scoreless for nearly 20 minutes around half-time before late goals from Adrian Hanlon and Dermot Molloy reduced the gap between the two sides.
With Monaghan and St.Marys to come in the competition Donegal Manager Jim Mc Guinness will continue to experiment.
