It has emerged that the victims of two aggravated burglaries in Inishowen last evening were earlier visited by callers looking to sell household items.
A man in his 60’s was targeted at Linsfort while a woman in her 80’s, living in Muff, was robbed a short time later.
Both cases involved five men – it’s understood Gardai are investigating the possibility that the incidents are linked.
Gardai believe a blue or grey Proton car with a Northern Ireland registration plate may have been used in both incidents – and they’ve appealed for anyone with information to contact them at Buncrana Garda station.
Inspector David Murphy says the houses of both victims were visited by callers earlier in the day and made this appeal:
