The head of Failte Ireland has rejected claims from a Letterkenny hotelier that not enough is being done to promote The Gathering at a national level.
Terry Mc Eniff, a former Mayor of the town who has also been closely involved with Letterkenny Tourism, told Highland Radio’s Shaun Doherty Show yesterday that while there’s a lot happening locally, that effort is not being matched in Dublin………….
However, Failte Ireland’s CEO is rejecting the criticism, and he says the Gathering was never about money.
Sean Quinn, who was in Donegal last evening for an industry briefing, says the essence of The Gathering is local initiative, and not funding packages being handed down from the government…………..
