Badminton – Chloe Retains National Title

Raphoe Olympian Chloe Magee beat Sinead Chambers 21-10 21-12 in the finals of the ladies singles nationals at the weekend to lift her 7th singles national title in a row.
Chloe would then teamed up with brother Sam Magee in the mixed and won in 2 straight sets against Tony Murphy/Jennie King 21-9 21-10 to retain their mixed national title and make it 6th in a row.
Also in national finals was 15 year old Rachael Darragh competing in her first senior nationals she made the ladies doubles final and lifted a silver medal with partner Caroline Black from Lisburn.
Other local players in aciton were Joshua Magee who reached the Mens singles semi-final and Ian Macbeth who reached the Mens Doubles Semi-Final with Sam Magee.
Chloe and Sam are now off with the Irish Senior team to compete in the European Mixed Team in Russia from the 12-17 February.
