A 29-year-old has been shot in the foot in Meenan Square in the Bogside area of Derry.
The man was treated in hospital, his injuries are not life threatening.
It is believed the attack was carried out by dissident republicans.
Derry City Councillor Patricia Logue says those responsible are not acting for the vast majority of the local community and should cease such actions:
