A new survey has underlined once again the drop off in the construction industry in County Donegal.
The GeoDirectory has recorded 31% decrease in new buildings in Donegal in first half of 2013.
224 new residential and commercial buildings were recorded in Donegal for the first six months of 2013, according to new figures released by GeoDirectory.
The figures represent a year-on-year decrease of 31% compared to the same period in 2012 when 327 new buildings were added in the county.
The total number of new residential and commercial buildings recorded across the country in the first six months of 2013 was 4,220.
The figures represent a continuing year on year decrease of 25% compared to the first six months of 2012, when 5,620 new buildings were added to the database.
The new data shows that 402 or 9.5% of this new commercial and residential stock are vacant.
The vacancy rate for new building additions in Donegal is 16%.
