As students consider their CAO offers today, Nursing courses at Letterkenny I.T. are once again the most sought after courses atr the college, with 400 points required for General Nursing, 375 for Psychiatric Nursing and 360 for Intellectual Disability Nursing.
However, in all three cases, not all applicants with the minimum points requirement were offered places, with random selection used to determine who on the minimum points gets an offer.
In each of the nursing courses, the points requirement is down five points on last year’s first round offer.
Destination Tourism with Marketting at Killybegs is being offered at 295 points, although the long term future of the Killybegs Campus remains uncertain following a recommendation by the college’s board that the Killybegs courses be centralised in Letterkenny.
Other Level 8 courses include Business at 285, Business and Accounting at 280, Early Childhood, Care and Education at 275, Sports Coaching and Performance at 250, and Applied Computing and Computing with Cloud and Green Information Technology, both at 245.
The highest Level 7 course requirement is Veterinary Nursing at 390 points, up 10 on last year, and again with the proviso that not everyone on the mimimum points will be offered a place.
