The consultation period on the proposed transfer of over 300 driver and vehicle licensing jobs from Coleraine to DVLA headquarters in Swansea ends one week from today.
I’s been confirmed that the North’s Envioronment Minister Mark H. Durkan will visit the Coleraine centre on that day to show solidarity with the staff.
Local MLA John Dallat says it’s important that the workers at the plant are given as much support as possible, particularly as the threat to their jobs is a very real one.
He says it’s vital that senior politicians send a very clear message to the British Government about the importance of retaining the jobs in County Derry:
