North West MEP Marian Harkin has accused the EU Commission President of political posturing, imbalance and inaccuracy.
During his “State of the Union” address to parliament today, Mr Barroso gave an upbeat assessment of the European economic situation, telling MEPs that recovery was in sight for Europe and that the situation in bailout countries such as Ireland, Portugal, Cyrpus and Greece was improving.
However, Ms Harkin says Mr Barroso did not give an accurate reflection of the reality in most EU countries which are still struggling with the fallout of the economic crash five years on……….
