Hope for regularisation of US undocumented as immigration reform discussions continue

 statue of libertyIn the US, Republican Congressman Paul Ryan is among the key figures who will meet Irish politicians today to discuss immigration reform.
Earlier this year, the Senate passed an immigration reform bill which has fallen off the agenda because of the government shutdown.
A delegation from the Oireachtas Foreign Affairs Committee has been holding meetings with both sides of America’s political divide – and say they’re hopeful of securing support to regularise the status of 50-thousand undocumented Irish.
