18 Primary Care Centres and Health Centres in Donegal are to introduce a tobacco-free campus policy next month.
From Monday 2 December it will no longer possible to smoke anywhere on certain Primary Care Centre or Health Centre grounds; for example, entrances, doorways, walkways, internal roads, car parks or cars.
It will mean that a third of all health care establishments in the county will then be tobacco free.
And smoking cessation officer, Fiona Boyle, says the aim in the long term is for all healthcare establishments to be smoke free zones:
