Doherty challenges government claim that employment corner has been turned

pearse DohertyA Donegal Deputy has rejected claims by the Government that they have now turned a corner in relation to unemployment here.
CSO figures released yesterday show over 1,000 jobs a week were created in the year to the end of September.
The Central Statistics Office says employment recorded the largest increase during the period – since the end of 2007.
Deputy Pearse Doherty says while he welcomes the figures, he says they don’t paint the full picture:

Meanwhile, Deputy Doherty and Finance Minister Michael Noonan clashed in the Dail yesterday after Minister Noonan made reference to builders in Donegal working night and day in the black economy.
He claimed later he was drawing on a comment made earlier by Deputy Doherty, who has accussed the minister of trying to misrepresent him.
