Letterkenny vying for title of “Ireland’s Best Tourist Town”

Letterkenny is one of ten areas hoping to be named Ireland’s best tourism town later today.
The 2013 Fáilte Ireland Tourism Towns awards will be announced this afternoon, with awards on offer for the country’s best small and large towns.
The awards were designed to encourage more Irish towns and villages to work together to enhance their appeal to tourists visiting their local area.
The other nominated towns are Cobh in Cork, Drogheda in Co. Louth, Ennis in Clare along with Kenmare and Tralee in Kerry and Kilkenny Town, as well as three towns in county Mayo – Mulranny, Murrisk and Westport.
