Aston Villa have confirmed that former Irish International Shay Given is set to join Middlesbrough on an emergency loan subject to Premier League clearance.
The Lifford man will join up with the Championship squad until the 29th of December and will be eligible for Boro’s home game against Bolton on Saturday.
The 37-year-old has found his been out of favour under Paul Lambe since joining Villa from Manchester City.
Given has mostly been called upon to stand in for Brad Guzan in Cup ties for Villa in recent times.
