Mairead Mc Guinness joins Jim Higgins on FG European Election ticket

Two candidates have been selected by Fine Gael to contest the enlarged Midlands -North West constituency in the forthcoming European Elections on May 23rd.
Sitting North West MEP Jim Higgins will be joined on the ticket by current Ireland East MEP Mairead Mc Guinness.
Ms McGuinness was proposed by party Chairman Charlie Flanagan TD, and seconded by Donegal North East TD Joe McHugh.
She is currently leader of the Fine Gael delegation in the European Parliament.
Speaking at the convention in Atlone this afternoon, Mairead McGuinness told the convention that she had every confidence that Fine Gael could win two seats in the constituency in the elections on May 23rd.
