Tanaiste: Alan Shatter did not mislead the Dail over GSOC

The Tánaiste is insisting the Justice Minister did not mislead the Dáil in relation to the GSOC bugging claims.
The comments from Eamon Gilmore come ahead of an appearance by Alan Shatter before an Oireachtas Committee on Wednesday where he will answer questions.
But the coalition is continuing to reject calls for an Independent inquiry.
Mr. Gilmore says Minister Shatter will clarify any issues and that he did nit mislead the Dáil.
“No he didn’t no – Alan Shatter gave a briefing to the Cabinet, he went into the Dail on the same day he made a statement to the Dail” he said.
“As you know there is an Oireachtas Committee that is looking at this issue quite properly”.
“That Oireachtas Committee decided last week to invite Minister Shatter to appear at the Oireachtas Committee, he is doing that – he will be doing that this week”.
“And I expect that he will answer whatever questions they put to him on it” he added.
