Finn Harps’ five match unbeaten run came to an end at Finn Park as they lost 1-0 to promotion chasing Longford Town.
The midlanders had the better of things for most of the game with striker David O’Sullivan having a number of chances to score.
But it wasn’t until the 85th minute that Longford finally found the target when substitute Glen O’Connor fired home a wonderful 25-yard free.
Harps rarely threatened in front of goal and Longford will feel that they deserved the three points.
Afterwards Harps’ boss Ollie Horgan said that they had known in advance of the threat that would be posed by set-pieces.
