There’s controversy over plans for a stripper to perform at a Leaving Cert party in Dublin. Tomangos in Portmarnock is hosting a blow out bash to celebrate the end of exams with Chelsea Ferguson due to appear at the nightclub on Wednesday night. A spokesperson for the Dublin Rape Crisis Centre says it is not an appropriate way to celebrate finishing the exams. “I think it’s not the way to encourage young people to celebrate after their Leaving Certs,” said CEO Ellen O’Malley Dunlop.”Certainly it’s really important that young people do celebrate – they’ve been through a really tough time over the last couple of weeks, but I think it’s no initiation for young people to expose them to this type of exploitation.”
