Cork City FC have confirmed the signing of Cillian Morrison.
The Letterkenny man joins the club from UCD, where he was the Belfield outfit’s leading scorer so far this season, with four league goals from twelve starts.
Speaking to CorkCityFC.ie, the 22 year old said: “I’m delighted to have signed. I have been talking to John (Caulfield) about what he is trying to do down here and it is a really exciting time for me. It’s a great opportunity, but I know it will be difficult to get into the team with the quality that is there at the moment.”
Morrison has signed for the club until the end of the 2015 season, and City manager John Caulfield said that the signing highlights the intention of the club to build a squad capable of competing for honours: “I am very pleased Cillian has signed. He’s got a few goals already this season for UCD. He is another young lad with a lot of pace, a lot of ability and a great attitude, and I think he will be a great addition to our squad.”
Morrison is the second Donegal man at Turners Cross, the other being club captain Johnny Dunleav from Ballybofey.
