A member of the HSE West Regional Forum has been paying tribute to staff at Letterkenny General Hospital, 12 months after a major flood caused millions of euro worth of damage and put several services out of commission.
While most key services, including the Emergency Department, have been restored, there is still some outstanding work to be completed. Management at the hospital say when copmpleted, facilities will be better than they were before the flood.
The rebuild cost will be in excess of 15 million euro, and overall costs will exceed 30 million when interim measures and alternative facilities are factored in.
Cllr Ciaran Brogan says ensuring services are restored is a priorty, and he’s happy with the progress so far.
He says most people in Donegal don’t realise what staff at Letterkenny General have had to endure to get the hospital back to where it is today………….
