A Donegal Cllr has claimed that the local authority spent €156,000 two years ago on a water meter survey, the findings of which are now being used by Irish Water.
As a result of this survey they now have full details, including photographs, of where the service connection/stop-cock is located for each property in Co Donegal on the public water network.
Cllr Dessie Shiels says this survey was not made widely known to the Public but elected Councillors and TDs in Donegal were aware of it.
He’s now asking why they never opposed it, especially when so many seem to be against Irish Water:
