Minister tells Dail that garda numbers will increase as economy improves

The Justice Minister Frances Fitzgerald says the continued economic improvement will lead to the recruitment of more Gardai, and resolve some of the issues about garda numbers which have arisen across the country, including recent concerns in the Donegal division.
She was responding to a number of questions in the Dail, one of them from Donegal North East Deputy Padraig Mac Lochlainn, who raised recent Garda Representative Association claims that gardai were being moved from rural areas to Letterkenny because of a crisis in staffing there….
