Derry councillor says Waterside Station upgrade remains a priority

 

A Derry councillor says he’s hopeful money will be made available soon for improvements to the train station on Derry’s Waterside.
Cllr Martin Reilly says with passengers numbers increasing on the Derry to Belfast line and plans for a passing loop which would allow the introduction of an hourly service, it’s vital that the station is improved.
He says his preference would be to renovate the old station and transform it into a transport hub for a number of services.
Earlier this week, East Derry MLA John Dallat expressed concern that the line improvements may ber further delayed. Clr Reilly says he shares those concerns, but the campaign to improve the station must continue…….
