Burnfoot man in court on Letterkenny explosive charges

A 30 year-old man has appeared in court on a number of charges relating to an explosion under a vehicle in Letterkenny on November 22nd 2013.
Mark Cassidy of Ballyderowen in Burnfoot appeared before Letterkenny District Court today.
He faced charges of possessing explosives and the possession of explosives with intent to endanger life and property
The charges relate to an explosion under a vehicle parked outside a house in Manor View Park, Long Lane in Letterkenny on November 22, 2013.
Damage was caused to the vehicle in the blast.
The former soldier answered ‘no reply’ to the charges – there was no application for bail.
Mr Cassidy was remanded in custody to appear again before the court via video link next Monday.
