Derry and Strabane Council are calling on the Northern Ireland Executive to provide financial support to Foyle Search and Rescue.
Over the years, the memebers of the organisation, who work completley voluntary, have saved dozens of lives.
Cllr Sean Carr who raised the motion at the latest council meeting, says Foyle Search and Rescue have become a fourth emergency service in Derry.
And he says it’s vital they receive funding:
