Struggling Derry City got a morale boosting win with an important 3-0 success over Longford Town at the Brandywell.
City produced their best first half performance in months as they led 2-0 at the interval thanks to a Pat O’Sullivan own goal goal on nine minutes and a Mark Timlin shot on 20 minutes.
City could well have led by more at the break with the impressive Stephen Dooley squandering a good chance late in the half.
Peter Hutton’s men sealed the points on 75 minutes when Timlin got his second and Derry’s third who fired past Paul Hunt.
