Irish athlete Mark English has called on the IAAF and WADA to do everything in their power to help clean up the sport.
The European 800 metre bronze medal winner has been responding the the recent allegations of widespread drug-taking – including claims that over 800 athletes had suspicious blood test results which weren’t acted-upon by authorities.
IAAF vice-president Seb Coe has described the media reports as “a declaration of war” on the sport.
But English says that the allegations have merely confirmed his own worst fears about the state of athletics at the moment and has urged the governing body to take charge of policing the sport properly…
