Work is to begin in the coming days on land in Donneyloop which has been subject to numerous incidents of flash flooding over the years.
Last year, it was reported that people were trapped in their cars by excessive water.
In recent days, residents bore the brunt of flash flooding in the area due to the unusual summer weather of late.
The work has been welcomed by local Councillor Patrick McGowan but he says there are still many places in the Finn Valley area still in need of work and that it’s now up to the government to provide that funding:
