Derry City take crucial points in 1-0 win over Shamrock Rovers

Derry City enjoyed a deserved one – nil win at home to Shamrock Rovers on Friday night with a goal on 74 minutes from Dean Jarvis.
After a week which saw Derry go out of the FAI Cup away to Cork City and part company with manager Peter Hutton, the win should boost the mood amongst the players and fans as the end of season run – in draws to a close.

In the other games played in the Premier Division, Dundalk beat Drogheda United by six goals to nil to help Derry at the bottom of the table. Bohemians and Longford Town drew one-all.
Derry are in eighth position with five games left to play.
