Quarter Final defeats for Raphoe players at Badminton’s Welsh Open

The Magee’s from Raphoe bowed out of the Welsh Open in Cardiff on Friday evening.
In the mixed doubles quarter finals, Chloe and Sam lost to the fifth seeded Australian pair Serasinghe and Mapasa in straight sets, 21-19 22-20.
Chloe and Sam had entered the tournament as the second seeds for the mixed event.
Next up was Joshua and Sam, who lost to the English third seeds, Andrew Ellis and Peter Mills. The Donegal men’s doubles combination also went out in straight sets 21-16 21-18.
Rachel Darragh and Sara Boyle made their exit from the women’s doubles quarter finals with a 21-11 21-19 defeat to French pair Batome and Lefel.
Earlier on Friday in singles competition, Chloe lost her quarter final to a Bulgarian 21-9 21-9.
