Sligo teacher takes over as ASTI president

Sligo teacher Kieran Christie takes over as General Secretary of the ASTI from tomorrow.
Mr Christie is a teacher of design and graphics, materials technology and construction. He taught at St Attracta’s Community School, Tubbercurry, Co. Sligo, from 2002 to 2015 having previously taught at Banada Secondary School, also in Sligo.
The ASTI is Ireland’s largest second-level teachers’ union representing 18,000 teachers in schools all over the country.
