Body of elderly woman recovered from the Quay in Donegal Town

A body has been recovered from the Quay in Donegal Town after a major search and rescue operation late last night.
Gardai received initial reports of a woman entering the water shortly after 11.30 and the Killybegs Coastguard, Bundoran lifeboat and the Sligo rescue helicopter were tasked to the scene.
A body of a woman believed to be in her early 80s and from the area was recovered from the water shortly after 1am this morning.
She was pronounced dead at the scene and her body was removed to Letterkenny University Hostpial.
Gardai say they are not treating the death as suspicious.
